HVAC Maintenance Technician

Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team. As an HVAC Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility will be to conduct scheduled maintenance on air conditioning units for both commercial and residential clients. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of HVAC systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled daily maintenance tasks on air conditioning units.
• Replace filters to maintain air quality standards.
• Monitor temperature split, comparing the air intake temperature with the air blown out by the conditioner.
• Inspect and address the float switch to prevent potential issues.
• Clean and clear the drain line to prevent blockages.
• Assess indoor and outdoor fan amperage, ensuring they operate within optimal parameters.
• Clean the primary drain pan for efficient drainage.
• Administer algaecide tablets to prevent algae growth in the unit.
• Thoroughly inspect and secure all electrical connections.
• Document all maintenance activities performed on each unit.
• In addition to your maintenance duties, you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to a collaborative work environment. As an HVAC Maintenance Technician, you will also play a vital role in upholding compliance with appliance standards, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and meeting customer requirements.

Requirements

• Vocational, training, or apprenticeship of an HVAC program
• High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice
• Ability to work in confined spaces
